Construction of houses (providing roof construction material) for the homeless and needy.
Apply NowMalabar Housing Charitable Trust was established in 2004 to provide partial financial aid for the construction of houses for the homeless. This aid is given to the poor and also those who have lost their homes in natural disasters.
The applications received will be entered in the register of the trust and a registration number will be allotted to each application. After this the supervisory officer and a field staff of the Housing Trust will visit the location and a detailed report will be submitted on a regular basis to the panel of social experts along with the photos of the plot and the stage of completion of the house.
Like we did earlier in Mission “PROJECT-HOUSING”, we help people partially or completely in the construction of houses. Partial help will be provided as from our survey we concluded that help will be given from the Government or other organizations also. In certain circumstances if we come to know that people who are in need are not able to get any other means to construct their houses, we will provide complete support. The maximum amount that will be expended on a person will be Rs.50000/-.
The selected applicants will be informed by phone or by post. The sanctioned amount will not be disbursed directly to the applicants. A committee consisting of our panel of trustees and other persons from political, social or religious sectors for welfare of applicants shall be formed. The donation will be disbursed only through such organizations. Authorized persons of such committees must seal and sign on the declaration stating that the sanctioned amount will be used for the said purposes only. The material required for construction will be purchased either by the trust or by the committee. In case the material for construction is purchased by the committee both the applicant and the authorized committee member must sign the bill. The bill must be in the name of Malabar Housing Charitable Trust.
We believe that materials provided to the applicants for the construction of houses should be of high quality. We have therefore continuously tried to ensure that best quality material is provided. We have a team of members as stated below who will study about the market. They will collect purchase quotes from 5 or 6 suppliers and the panel of social experts will decide as to from whom to be purchased. This helps the applicants to procure quality materials at an effective rate.
